The study “Perception and behavior of the population regarding responsible energy consumption and energy efficiency in buildings” conducted by INSCOP Research for the program “Efficient Romania”  was commissioned by Energy PolicyGroup; data: collected on October 12-30, 2019; sample: 1628 subjects.

Regarding the relationship between the perception of climate change and its causes, respectively energy efficiency, and the related costs, we note a rational approach from the Romanians. Thus, 84.9% consider that climate change is real, and of these, 72.7% believe that the cause of the phenomenon is the carbon emissions generated by human activity. 13.1% believe that climate change is a normal, natural phenomenon, unrelated to human activity, while 6.3% see the phenomenon as a punishment from God. 71.4% of the total population believes in a large and very large extent that energy waste contributes to accelerating climate change, while only 12.3% believe this to a small extent, and 5.4% to a very small extent. 10.3% say they do not know and 0.6% do not answer.
