According to the Informat.ro – INSCOP Research BAROMETER, 9th edition, conducted between April 1–7 2026, AUR remains the clear leader in Romanian’s preferences for the parliamentary elections, although it continues to decline below the 40% threshold of voting intentions.
The Informat.ro – INSCOP Research BAROMETER is a monthly opinion poll conducted by INSCOP Research at the request of the news platform Informat.ro, in partnership with the Strategic Thinking Group think tank.
The Informat.ro – INSCOP Research BAROMETER aims to bring to public attention topics of interest to stimulate national conversations on diverse subjects and key public policies for Romania’s present and future, based on citizen’s opinions, in partnership with prestigious think tanks and academic institutions. It is an initiative intended to contribute to strengthening democracy by using scientific and credible tools that place citizen’s voices at the center of public debate.
Methodology: Data were collected between April 1–7 2026. Research method: questionnaire-based interviews. Data were collected using the CATI method (telephone interviews). The simple random sample included 1,100 respondents and is representative of the significant sociodemographic categories (gender, age, occupation) for Romania’s non-institutionalized population aged 18 and older. The maximum margin of error is ±3% at a 95% confidence level.
Remus Ștefureac, Director of INSCOP Research: “AUR reaches its lowest score in INSCOP measurements conducted after the presidential elections of May 2025 (37%), losing 4 percentage points compared to the beginning of 2026. At the same time, a new phenomenon can be observed, which this month appears more pronounced than in previous measurements—namely, the significant widening of the gap between respondent’s voting intention for a party and those who both choose a party and declare they would definitely turn out to vote (mobilized voters). For example, in the case of PSD, there is a 3.5 percentage point difference between those who choose PSD (20.1%) and PSD’s mobilized voters (16.6%). By comparison, PNL, USR, and AUR have more mobilized voters, while PSD and UDMR currently have less mobilized electorates.”
