NINE O’CLOCK: President Klaus Iohannis is topping public confidence rankings in Romania as far as confidence in public figures goes, followed by Governor of the National Bank of Romania (BNR) Mugur Isarescu and Romania’s ambassador to the US George Maior, according to findings of an INSCOP opinion poll released on Thursday. The poll indicates that Iohannis is on a falling trend, given that only 61.6 per cent of the respondents in the latest poll say they trust Iohannis much and very much, down from 65 per cent in April. The poll also shows Prime Minister Victor Ponta ranking 4th in the ranking of public confidence. As many as 61.6 per cent of the respondents say they trust President Klaus Iohannis much and very much (compared with 65 per cent in April’s poll). Following the President in the ranking is Mugur Isarescu, at 42.8 per cent (up from 40.1 per cent in April). George Maior is third, at 27.6 per cent (up from 24.8 per cent in April).
